Running with colour thrown at you, running in the dark with glow-in-the-dark lights and running through fake snow. If you thought physical activity cannot be made any more appealing, organisers of a new 5K run that involves foamy bubbles are ready to up the fun factor for UAE residents this weekend.
The first Big Bubble 5k Run will be held on Friday at the Dubai Autodrome. Participants will be sprayed with bubbles, made of 100 per cent toxic free ingredients and a non-slippery foam solution, as they walk, jog or run through the course with family and friends. There will be shower zones where foam will fall on runners and two foam bath zones that will produce bubbles on the course.
The Bubble Base at the starting point will have the main stage where a DJ will be spinning tunes to get the crowd energised. The activity area will also have face painting , bubble making and a big bubble show for children.
The run will take place at Dubai Autodrome from 7am on Friday.
Tickets are from Dh185 on www.bigbubblerun.com

Three ways to limit your social media use
Clinical psychologist, Dr Saliha Afridi at The Lighthouse Arabia suggests three easy things you can do every day to cut back on the time you spend online.
1. Put the social media app in a folder on the second or third screen of your phone so it has to remain a conscious decision to open, rather than something your fingers gravitate towards without consideration.
2. Schedule a time to use social media instead of consistently throughout the day. I recommend setting aside certain times of the day or week when you upload pictures or share information.
3. Take a mental snapshot rather than a photo on your phone. Instead of sharing it with your social world, try to absorb the moment, connect with your feeling, experience the moment with all five of your senses. You will have a memory of that moment more vividly and for far longer than if you take a picture of it.
