News about an official Black Star reunion has been bubbling underneath the service for years with both Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def, below) touring together consistently as solo artists.

But the news hip-hop fans been waiting for finally arrived recently with both artists not only confirming their re-union, but premiering a new track Fix Up on The Colbert Report.

The track is similar to Dizzee Rascal's Fix Up Look Sharp not only in title, but the group freely borrows the hook for the chorus. That aside, Fix Up has all the ingredients that allowed Black Star to remain one of the most respected groups in the hip-hop game: the dynamic vocal interplay between the rappers and lyrics that both delight and enlighten. My favorite line came from Kweli in the beginning of the second verse: "The wait is over, or is it overweight?/ The game is bloated, there's no escape/ They sub-standard, we substantial/ We got the great names, they got the love handles.
