Drake has just released a new song – and potentially initiated a viral dance craze for the self-isolation era.
The rapper released Toosie Slide on Thursday night, along with a music video that speaks to the current climate. The video opens with scenes of deserted streets in Drake's home town of Toronto, and then shows the musician dancing around his home with his face partially covered.
The simple choreography was created by Atlanta dancer and influencer Toosie, who has also released a video performing the song’s instructed moves: “It go right foot up, left foot slide/Left foot up, right foot slide.”
Toosie Slide is Drake's first official solo single of 2020. He collaborated with Future on Life Is Good and with Lil Yachty and DaBaby on Oprah's Bank Account earlier in the year.
The song arrives just days after Drake took to social media to post the first public photos of his two-year-old son, Adonis, and share some words of encouragement for fans.
“Be conscious, especially right now of fears coming in from others, and recognise that not everything should be held by you," Drake wrote. "Laughter is your best medicine, but tears can also be a powerful release. Let go of any judgment you may have around that. Remember that you are never alone, and if you need to be reminded of that ask for support and it will show up.”

- Start with a simple recipe such as yogurt or sauerkraut
- Keep your hands and kitchen tools clean. Sanitize knives, cutting boards, tongs and storage jars with boiling water before you start.

It’s easier to go grey from a lighter colour, so you may want to do that first. And this is the time to try a shorter style, she advises. Then a stylist can introduce highlights, start lightening up the roots, and let it fade out. Once it’s entirely grey, a purple shampoo will prevent yellowing.
“Get professional help – there’s no other way to go around it,” she says. “And don’t just let it grow out because that looks really bad. Put effort into it: properly condition, straighten, get regular trims, make sure it’s glossy.”
