One of Bollywood’s best-loved couples, Farhan Akhtar and his wife Adhuna, shocked fans last week when they issued a joint statement announcing their divorce after 16 years of marriage.
Since then, rumour mills have been rife with conjecture over the reason for the split.
Young actresses Shraddha Kapoor and Aditi Rao Hydari’s names have been thrown about a lot. While the split was initially blamed on Farhan’s “closeness” with Rock On! 2 co-star Kapoor, news reports suggest it was actually because of 29-year-old Hydari, his co-star in his latest film, Wazir, after the two were seen arriving at a party hand-in-hand.
Aktar, 42, who has two children with Adhuna, 48, has reportedly moved out of his Mumbai family home and is currently staying with his sister, the celebrated filmmaker Zoya Akhtar.
