The US midterm elections are less than a week away and everything is still up in the air. Democrats and Republicans are hitting the campaign trail trying to rally support.
Midterms are often seen as a referendum on a president’s first term. That’s certainly the case this year. November 6 will be a litmus test to see how Americans are responding to President Trump.
Historically the party that is out of power has a slight advantage in the midterms as the party’s base is more easily galvanised.
Republicans currently control both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Democrats are hoping they can change that.
The results will likely shape the course of Trump’s presidency and the future of America for years to come.
