Public parking fees will be waived in Abu Dhabi for three days next week to mark Commemoration Day and National Day.

Mawaqif parking across the capital's public surface bays will be free from Sunday, December 1, to Tuesday, December 3 - the length of the UAE-wide public holiday. Fees will resume at 7.59am on Wednesday December 4, the Integrated Transport Centre said on Wednesday.

Residential parking areas will remain active over the holiday, however, and motorists without a resident permit will not be allowed to park in those designated bays between 9pm and 8am.

All customer service centres will be closed, reopening on Wednesday.

Public bus and ferry services will operate to the usual Friday and holiday schedule over the three days. The full schedule can be found on the ITC website.

The ITC called on motorists not to park their cars in prohibited areas or to block traffic at the risk of fines.
