Early morning fog that caused whiteout conditions in parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah mostly lifted by 9am Saturday, but is likely to return Sunday morning, according to the National Center of Meteorology. Relative humidity is forecast to increase overnight and into the morning, leading to potential fog and mist over the coast and the internal areas, the NCM said. Saturday’s weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with winds blowing between 21 and 26 km/h along the coast, and slightly stronger in the interior, causing the sea to be slight to moderate. Temperatures will peak at 26 C on the coast, 28 C in the interior and 18 C in the mountains. Dubai Police reported a “severe” accident on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road at about 9am, “after workers’ area towards Sharjah,” but it is unknown whether this crash was due to the fog.
