Guard acquitted of molesting boy



DUBAI // A security guard was acquitted this morning of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old student on his way home from school.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance had been told that on May 2, the 20-year-old MW, a Pakistani, had hugged the boy against his will and kissed him on his cheek.

Prosecutors charged him with forceful sex assault. But MW told Judge Fahmy Mounir Fahmy, "It didn't happen."

The Iranian student had told prosecutors that MW, a security guard at a building near his school, had molested him when he stopped in for a drink of water. His mother told prosecutors that her son came home terrified and was crying when she questioned him about the incident.
