Abu Dhabi Police stopped an Emirati from taking his life by jumping off Sheikh Zayed Bridge on Monday. The 22-year-old man was standing on the edge of the 64 metre high bridge during rush hour when police were called. Police closed the bridge, and authorities urged commuters to take an alternative route while they attended to the incident. The man was taken to a police station, where initial investigations showed that he was in an "unstable condition which made him climb up the bridge".
