Champions League football was back with a bang this week and the hottest young player in Europe maintained his stunning form.

Borussia Dortmund's 19-year-old attacker Erling Braut Haaland scored both goals in his team's 2-1 last-16 first-leg win over Paris Saint-Germain in Germany.

Haaland now has 11 goals in seven games for Dortmund, and 10 goals in seven Champions League games to become the only teenager to reach double figures in a single season, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe.

Champions Liverpool will have to come from behind if they want to retain their title after a 1-0 defeat at Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

There was a remarkable set of first-round exits at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Tuesday.

Two-time title holder Elina Svitolina, last year's champion Belinda Bencic and the new Australian Open winner Sofia Kenin all bit the dust on a day of shocks. They lost to Jennifer Brady, Anasatsia Pavlyuchenkova and Elena Rybakina, respectively.
