The on-loan star, just on as a substitute, curled a wonderous left-footed free-kick into City’s top corner, the ball striking the top of the post on its way. The coronavirus has stopped football in its tracks for now, with the plans for a resumption being discussed by the Premier League and Football Leagues in England later in the week.

The interruption may drag on for months, but there have been some memorable matches and goals before the pandemic kicked in.

When, and if, the 2019-20 season gets under way again, it will be remembered for many things. But history will also record the greatest moments.
