Manchester City's 15th consecutive win in all competitions saw them beat the all-time record for English top-flight clubs on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola's side won 3-1 at Swansea in the FA Cup to pass the achievement of Preston in 1891-92 and Arsenal in 1987.

The last time City failed to win a game was against West Bromwich Albion on December 15, when they were held to a 1-1 draw.

Since then, there have been 10 successive victories in the Premier League - taking them five points clear at the top - plus two wins in the League Cup, and three in the FA Cup.

"It shows how special these players are," said Guardiola. "And we think of the next one. I know we broke a record of all-time. To do what we have done so far is quite remarkable.

"The record will be broken for sure, because sports is like this, but it means a lot, to do what we have done in the winter time and Christmas time is quite remarkable.

"It is the toughest time, but what is important is the way we are still playing with our consistency."

City will be hoping to extend that run to 16 when they host Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, though with games then coming up against Everton and Arsenal, it will be a tough ask to keep the victories rolling in.
