Bill Meridian looks at what the stars have in store for you this week.

Mars is very strong as it arrives in Leo on the 10th. Martian activity and aggression increase near the stations of the Red Planet. One of the countries that has been detected by the planetary scan is Indonesia. The country's national horoscope is set for December 27, 1949. Mars contacts the horoscopes in that region now, and the planetary pressure increases into the summer. After looking at the history of the country, disturbances are likely to be political, financial or weather-related. For confirmation, we look at the horoscopes of the leaders and past events. President Yudhoyono's horoscope is afflicted. It seems most likely that the population is not pleased with the economy. Oil production has been falling for some time, which gives Yudhoyono's opponents an issue with which to challenge his position.

ARIES (March 20-April 18)  The days around the 9th could be difficult for you because the combination of Venus in Aries and Saturn in Libra may mean you are not so readily accepted by the object of your desires. TAURUS (April 19-May 19)  You will be concerned about those who are needy and less fortunate. Remember, different cultures have ideological differences as to how to deal with their plight.

GEMINI (May 20-June 19)  You like variety, so this week is good for you. Circumstances will shift and you must be open to whatever happens. A set routine will not work now and appointments will be cancelled.  CANCER (June 20-July 21)  Venus and Pluto are strong in the days around the 11th. This combination can bring tension and feelings of possessiveness and jealousy.   LEO (July 22-Aug 21)  Mars resumes forward motion in Leo on the 10th. This is a time for all of us, but especially Leos, to start new projects. Mars is a fire planet, and Leo is a fire sign, so this is a fine time for the lion to excel.

VIRGO (Aug 22-Sept 21)  This is the type of week that the very exacting Virgo would like to skip. Everything is disorganised, opportunities fly at you randomly and people around you will change their minds frequently. LIBRA (Sept 22-Oct 22)  This week you will have extra responsibilities, so expect tasks to consume more time than usual. Do not scatter your energies - concentrate all your attention on work.

SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 20)  The asteroid Pallas continues to be very strong in your sign. Pallas is associated with wisdom, so you will see situations more clearly this week and make more accurate decisions. SAGITTARIUS (Nov 21-Dec 22)  In the days around the 9th you might want to evaluate your diet. You may have been consuming foods that are not the best. Your focus should be on nutrition and good health.

CAPRICORN (Dec 23-Jan 19)  Interesting new contacts will arise with little effort on your part. Social opportunities may clash with your work schedule, so you will have to pass on some invitations, which is easy for the dedicated Capricorn.    AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18)  The Mars station is opposite your sign, so you feel energised to fire up new projects, but you may find there are obstacles. This can be frustrating, but resist the temptation to blame others.

PISCES (Feb 19-March 19)  This is an active time for you. Early in the week there will be a great deal of communication. Do not believe all that you are told. From the 11th to the 12th, communications will be more difficult.
