Rather like travel insurance, first aid kits are something you hope you'll never need, but you'll certainly be glad to have packed one should you sit on a rusty nail. Hopefully, though the investment will last for years, and with a bit of luck it will just sit there staring at you alongside all the other stuff you thought you'd better bring - like running shoes - but then never use.
