It is never too early to make New Year's Eve plans, and this year Abu Dhabi is set to ring in 2020 with an entertainment festival. The event, called Resolution, is spread across two days and begins with a New Year's Eve concert on Tuesday, December 31, at Du Arena on Yas Island. While the act has yet to be revealed, concert promoter Flash Entertainment promises that Resolution by Night will feature an "award-winning international superstar". Ticket information will be released soon. In the meantime, you can register your interest in advance on info.thinkflash.ae/resolution-nye. The action returns to the venue on Wednesday, January 1 (a public holiday in the UAE) with a jam-packed day full of family-friendly activities. Called Resolution by Day, the Du Arena will be open from 2pm to 10pm as it hosts a variety of attractions such as the Monster, a 300-metre long inflatable castle with over 40 obstacles, including an 18-metre slide, which organisers say is one of the biggest in the world. But it will be the New Year's Eve concert that Abu Dhabi residents will be most looking forward to, as they prepare to ring out 2019. The NYE event is a mainstay of the capital's event calendar. The last concert featured US pop star Katy Perry in 2017, and Coldplay has performed on New Year's Eve in the capital twice, in 2011 and 2016.
