Well, Kidman has since responded to blanking “good friend” Malek, saying, “I just did not feel his hand on my back! I was mortified… I love that man, he's so gentle and softly spoken. He's a darling.

“He sent me an e-mail. I sent him an e-mail,” Kidman added. “We were laughing, actually. We were both in a bit of a daze.”

The pair reunited on the Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet, laughing off the on-stage blanking.

Malek spoke to ET, making sure there was no confusion about the incident, saying: "Nicole's the best, and we've been having a laugh about it together."

Talking to Jimmy Kimmel, earlier in the week, Malek explained: “I've known [Nicole] many years despite what it may seem from that video... I thought I could easily go up and say 'hi' but in the moment like that… very awkward. I have a feeling this will be haunting me on the internet.”
