Beyond the Headlines UNGA special: Greta Thunberg and Donald Trump

'The National' Editor-in-Chief Mina Al-Oraibi and London Bureau Chief Damien McElroy on events so far

The United Nations General Assembly is the pinnacle of global diplomacy, gathering more than 190 world leaders in New York City for one week every year.

So far, an impassioned speech by 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg and a much more listless speech from United States President Donald Trump have been the big news stories. Mr Trump spoke about his anti-globalist agenda and the US relationship with Iran.

The National's multimedia producer and host Willy Lowry is in the Big Apple to report on events as they unfold. He speaks to Editor-in-Chief Mina Al-Oraibi and London Bureau Chief Damien McElroy about the events so far.
