Australian woman freed from custody

SANA'A // Security officials say an Australian woman detained last month as part of an investigation into al Qa'eda's increased activity in Yemen has been freed and is flying home with her two children. The officials say the plane with the 30-year-old Shyloh Giddins and her son and daughter took off from the airport in Sana'a shortly before 11am today. They say it's expected to make a stopover in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

Ms Giddins' lawyer, Abdel-Rahman Berman, says she was taken from the prison while police picked up the children from their apartment in Sana'a, and drove the three to the airport. Ms Giddins moved to Yemen with her children in 2006, after converting to Islam. * AP
