DUBAI // A man was stabbed in the buttocks at home by masked intruders who stole his wallet and mobile phones, and terrorised his sister-in-law, Dubai Criminal Court has heard.

In August last year, the Pakistani was at his flat in Al Baraha when an Iraqi, 19, and an Emirati and Pakistani, both 23, broke in about 9.30pm.

“I was asleep when someone started kicking me,” said the victim, 30. “The three men, two of whom wore masks, dragged me out of the room before one of them hit me with a sword to my head.”

He screamed and ran to the balcony to call for help and was stabbed in the behind by the Iraqi.

The commotion woke his sister-in-law, 21, who was in another room.

“They grabbed her and told her to keep her head down before the 19-year-old assaulted me again with the sword, to my hands,” said the victim.

He said they stole a wallet containing Dh5,000 and three mobile phones.

“The man was bleeding when we arrived at the apartment,” an Emirati policeman said. “There was blood everywhere.”

The Iraqi was tracked down and arrested first, then the Emirati and Pakistani. In court, they all denied charges of armed robbery.

The next hearing is scheduled for April 20.
