Man jailed for raping cleaner who was waiting on client to arrive

Egyptian will serve six years for raping Filipina in his apartment after she believed that he was the client she was waiting for.

AJMAN // An Egyptian man was jailed for six years at Ajman Criminal Court for raping a Filipina cleaner.

On September 26 last year, M R, 37, was sent by her manager to clean an apartment in Al Khor Towers.

While she waited on the customer, the rapist, M M, 34 approached her and asked her to come with him to clean his home. She assumed that he was the customer and went along.

However, when she entered his flat, he started kissing her.

“When I went with him to his apartment, he closed the door and came close to me and kissed me,” the victim said.

“I tried to get him away from me, I pushed him and ran towards the balcony and started screaming for help. He held and carried me to the bedroom and put me on the bed and had sex with me while I was crying and begging him to let me go.”

When she left the Egyptian’s flat, she called her manager, Filipina K K, and told her what had happened. They then went to a police station.

The defendant admitted that he had sex with the woman but said she had agreed to it after he gave her Dh100.

“When she entered the living room, she asked me about where the cleaning items were,” he said.

“Then she told me that she would massage me and I agreed, but we negotiated the price. She wanted Dh200 and I told her I would pay Dh100 and she agreed.”

He said that she filed a case against him only because she wanted Dh200 and he would not agree to that.

The attacker will be deported after serving his jail term, and he was told to pay Dh21,000 in compensation to his victim.
