Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Wednesday visited the Hashemi family to offer his condolences on the death of Abdullah bin Mohammed.

Al Hashemi ran Sheikh Zayed's private office at a time when oil was discovered and the country began to undergo rapid economic development.

The close adviser to the UAE's Founding Father died on Monday aged 89.

Al Hashemi oversaw the founding president's palaces, farms and personnel while supervising the construction projects he funded.

He was buried in Abu Dhabi on Monday and is survived by six sons and four daughters.
