Emirates Foundation launches Ramadan volunteering campaign

ABU DHABI // The Emirates Foundation has started a campaign to help Emirati youth engage in community service during Ramadan.

The Let’s Make It Count campaign, part of the Takatof volunteering initiative, involves activities such as distributing essential items to labourers, preparing iftar meals for low-income families and workers, renovating the homes of needy families, and helping those with special needs perform Umrah, reported Wam, the state news agency.

Also among the activities this year is the Takatof Football Championship to encourage volunteers nationwide to follow healthy lifestyles during the holy month.

“The ‘Let’s Make It Count’ campaign is a true reflection of the vision set forth by the UAE’s wise leadership, which aims to open up new horizons and opportunities for our youth to make a real difference within their communities and their lives,” said Maytha Al Habsi, deputy chief executive at Emirates Foundation.

The Takatof programme offers youth opportunities to volunteer.
