A fire broke out at labour accommodation in the Mushairif area in Ajman on Sunday evening.

According to Ajman Civil Defence, the fire was reported at about 5pm, after which firefighters and the national ambulance rushed to the location.

Lt Col Ailan Essah Al Shamsi, head of the operations room at Civil Defence, said the fire started in one room and spread to only one other. Both rooms were gutted, but the fire was prevented from spreading.

“In less than ten minutes, firefighters had the blaze under control and initiated the cooling process before handing the location to Ajman Police to investigate the cause of the fire,” said Lt Col Al Shamsi.
