And Paolo Di Canio, the Robins manager, wants the club's hierarchy to honour his players' victory.
Goals from Alan Connell and Paul Benson earned the win - and Swindon's first progression to the fourth round in 16 years - after Callum McManaman had handed visiting Wigan a 34th-minute lead.
Di Canio, the former Premier League star, revealed after the match that his squad's intense self-belief had exceeded even his own at half time, when Swindon were level at 1-1.
The Italian, who won Serie A, the Uefa Cup and the Scottish Premier League as a player, also branded the victory over Roberto Martinez's side as the greatest moment of his career.
"My lads today deserve something from the club - to do something and put their names in the stadium," he said.
"Normally you do this when you win something important, but I don't want a big statue. Maybe just a small plaque with all their names because they did something special. [At half time] I said to them 'once we go forward, attack because otherwise it is difficult to get what you want today, let the dream come true'. And today they did show the dream can come true. "
Stevenage maintained their reputation as giant killers as they beat Championship side Reading 1-0 at the Madejski Stadium. The side from League One, the third tier, knocked Newcastle United out of the cup in the third round last season.
Bolton Wanderers escaped embarrassment as David Wheater's header saw them salvage a replay against League Two Macclesfield as they drew 2-2 at Moss Rose.

Building boom turning to bust as Turkey's economy slows
Deep in a provincial region of northwestern Turkey, it looks like a mirage - hundreds of luxury houses built in neat rows, their pointed towers somewhere between French chateau and Disney castle.
