Fledgling MMA league Abu Dhabi Warriors Fighting Championship has already had to rejig its card after losing Konstantin Gluhov from its first main event. But as late replacements go, they've found a pretty impressive substitute. Bellator and former UFC heavyweight Travis 'Diesel' Wiuff will face Croatian fighter Maro Perak on top of the November 2 bill, after Gluhov suffered facial injuries during a bout with Aleksander Emelianenko. Wiuff's no mug, either, a 68-15-0 record, he lost in the final of Bellator's light heavyweight tournament earlier this summer against Attila Vegh, having already put Tim Carpenter and Chris Davis away in the competition. He also won Yamma's first (and admittedly only) heavyweight tournament, defeating the likes of Ricco Rodriguez on route to the final. Oh, and once upon a time - a decade ago, to be precise - young Travis, in only his third pro fight, did this: Yes, that's the Dean of Mean, Keith Jardine being dumped unceremoniously after just six seconds of their bout in the Extreme Challenge promotion. Perak, four years Wiuff's younger, comes into the fight with a 25-3-1 record, most recently recording a first round TKO win over the legendary Bob Sapp. Expect a fairly titanic clash from the two at the Abu Dhabi NEC next month...
