Many people claim the boarding school experience provides a rich educational environment where learning continues beyond the classroom. This is particularly so in an international environment, where the diverse enrolment of many nationalities and the celebration of different cultures mean students can potentially develop a greater global perspective.
However, the concept of boarding schools is relatively new to this country. It traces its beginnings to 2009, when Repton College Dubai welcomed boarders for the first time. This year, the Swiss International Scientific School announced that it would open boarding facilities.
We asked TaskSpotting users for their views on boarding schools. TaskSpotting describes itself as the region’s only advocate marketing platform and pitches our questions to its app community who typically engage with brands to create content and share feedback.
Surprisingly, 30 per cent of respondents said they or a member of their family had been to boarding school. About 45 per cent of respondents expressed an openness to their children attending a boarding school in this country. However, 56 per cent believed that boarding schools here should have their own Emirati flavour.

Described as 'the grandmother of the settler movement', she has encouraged the expansion of settlements for decades. The 79 year old leads radical settler movement Nachala, whose aim is for Israel to annex Gaza and the occupied West Bank, where it helps settlers built outposts.

These are illegal outposts in the West Bank, which are at the vanguard of the settler movement. According to the UK, they are associated with people who have been involved in enabling, inciting, promoting or providing support for activities that amount to “serious abuse”.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
