According to reports, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 08 July 2019 announced a partial military withdrawal from war-torn Yemen, more than four years after it participated in the Saudi-led military coalition against the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The UAE is a key partner in the coalition which intervened in Yemen in March 2015 to back the internationally recognized government of Yemen against Iran-aligned Houthi rebels.
