Emirates is set to resume flights to Bangkok from September 1.
The Dubai airline announced it will begin operating passenger flights to the Thai capital with services resuming on a daily basis next month.
The six-and-a-half-hour flights will be operated via an Emirates Boeing 777-300 with First, Business and Economy cabins.
Daily flights will depart Dubai at 1.50am and land in Thailand's busiest city at 11.30am. Return flights leave Suvarnabhumi Airport at 3.25am with passengers landing in the UAE at 6.35am.
Travellers arriving in Bangkok are subject to requirements set by Thai authorities and current restrictions mean only nationals and those with visas for the country can enter.
However, Thailand's tourism minister is reportedly pushing for Thursday, October 1 as a date to begin restarting the country's inbound tourism industry.
The resumption of flights to Bangkok means that Emirates will now fly to 78 destinations by September.
The airline most recently announced it was resuming flights to two cities in Africa – Conakry in Guinea and Dakar in Senegal. These services will resume from Thursday, September 3 and will take the total number of cities served by Emirates in Africa to eight.
The flights will operate via a Boeing 777-300 and as a linked service, departing Dubai for Conakry before flying on to Dakkar. There will be two flights per week, with the returning journey departing first from Senegal.
Travel to Guinea is currently restricted to nationals and visa holders and passengers must carry a negative Covid-19 test certificate.
Senegal is open to nationals, those with residency status and foreigners from countries who have not put travel restrictions in place for Senegal nationals. Negative Covid-19 certificates are required for all passengers except children under 2.

Trans fat is typically found in fried and baked goods, but you may be consuming more than you think.
Powdered coffee creamer, microwave popcorn and virtually anything processed with a crust is likely to contain it, as this guide from Mayo Clinic outlines:
Baked goods - Most cakes, cookies, pie crusts and crackers contain shortening, which is usually made from partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. Ready-made frosting is another source of trans fat.
Snacks - Potato, corn and tortilla chips often contain trans fat. And while popcorn can be a healthy snack, many types of packaged or microwave popcorn use trans fat to help cook or flavour the popcorn.
Fried food - Foods that require deep frying — french fries, doughnuts and fried chicken — can contain trans fat from the oil used in the cooking process.

Why it pays to compare
A comparison of sending Dh20,000 from the UAE using two different routes at the same time - the first direct from a UAE bank to a bank in Germany, and the second from the same UAE bank via an online platform to Germany - found key differences in cost and speed. The transfers were both initiated on January 30.
Route 1: bank transfer
The UAE bank charged Dh152.25 for the Dh20,000 transfer. On top of that, their exchange rate margin added a difference of around Dh415, compared with the mid-market rate.

Tax authority targets shisha levy evasion
The Federal Tax Authority will track shisha imports with electronic markers to protect customers and ensure levies have been paid.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, director of the tax authority, on Sunday said the move is to "prevent tax evasion and support the authority’s tax collection efforts".
The scheme’s first phase, which came into effect on 1st January, 2019, covers all types of imported and domestically produced and distributed cigarettes. As of May 1, importing any type of cigarettes without the digital marks will be prohibited.
He said the latest phase will see imported and locally produced shisha tobacco tracked by the final quarter of this year.
"The FTA also maintains ongoing communication with concerned companies, to help them adapt their systems to meet our requirements and coordinate between all parties involved," he said.
As with cigarettes, shisha was hit with a 100 per cent tax in October 2017, though manufacturers and cafes absorbed some of the costs to prevent prices doubling.
