Much of the UAE and wider region looks beautiful from ground level as you stroll through the wilderness of the desert or along parts of the practically untouched coastline. But the view from above can be even more extraordinary.
Thankfully, we are able to see many of these landscapes from a bird's-eye-view with the aid of Google Earth Views, a collection of thousands of images of the planet as seen from space.
Now, Google has released an update to its catalogue of images with more than 1,000 new jaw-dropping landscapes to stare at and admire.
It said the new imagery features more locations around the world and has been optimised for today's high-resolution screens.
We have picked out a selection of 25 landscapes covering the UAE and wider Middle East region which can be seen in the gallery above.
For those who really like what they see, the images can be downloaded from Google and used as digital wallpapers.
