This goes beyond surface tension. A skateable sculpture by Tashkeel, the arts collective in Nad Al Sheba, was designed based on the Arabic calligraphy for the group's name.
‘This is an example of how you can express yourself,’ says the Tashkeel studio manager Jack Payne. ‘Maybe kids who see it will have the confidence to do what they want in life.’
The ramp is open to skateboarders of all ages. Above, pictured manoeuvring the slopes (or, as Tashkeel calls them, ‘camel humps’) is organiser Bradley Kirr.
