Dubai was taken over by Volkswagens this weekend as more than 250 cars took part in the second annual Dub Drive GCC.

The biggest VW gathering in the Middle East attracted owners from across the Emirates, as well as Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

A total of 268 cars – predominantly Golfs, but also Arteons, Beetles and Camper Vans, among others – took part in a parade through the streets of Dubai that culminated at Dubai Autodrome, where activities included racing on the track.

The event is inspired by Wörthersee Treffen, a huge gathering of Golfs held for more than three decades in Austria that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
