Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will have its world premiere in Los Angeles on December 14.
Local industry insiders had been hopeful the premiere might be in Abu Dhabi, where part of the film was shot last year. There could still be the possibility of a regional premiere for the film here ahead of it’s general release, which reportedly will be on December 15 here.
The entire cast of the movie is expected to walk the red carpet at the US premiere, including original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.
The film will be released in the UK on December 17 and in the US on December 18.
