Gulf Film Festival 2013: A look at selected animated short films

There are only two short films listed in the animation category by Emirati directors, at the 6th annual Gulf Film Festival.

'Daddy ABC' by Hamad M. Alawar tells the story of a father who is left home alone one day with his young child, after his wife decides she needs to take a break. The father quickly discovers just how challenging the task can be. The film is in the Official Competition: Gulf Shorts

Featured in the official 'Lights' segment which offers selected projects that provide a glimpse of life in the GCC, is The Road by Farah Alkhatib. The short depicts the relationship between a mother and her son through a road flanked by trees. The changes in the environment represent the changes in life.
