More!?! Mooooorrrrrrrrre!?! For many of us, there's only one real way to say this word, and that's in the style of the workhouse master handing out gruel to a hungry Oliver Twist in the 1968 musical adaption of Charles Dickens' classic novel. All together now, mooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrre!?! With this in mind, it's probably time to get to the gist of this story, which is that the British Council is bringing 'Dickens on Film' to Abu Dhabi. From March 27 to April 2, 10 films will be screening at VOX Cinemas in Marina Mall, including the 1968 Oscar-winning musical, David Lean's takes on Great Expectations and Oliver Twist and even the remaining fragments of a 1913 version of David Copperfield, the oldest surviving film version of a Dickens adaptation. This year marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth. Come celebrate with the British Council. Note: he won't be there. <i>The screenings are free but you'll need to book your seat.
