As Abu Dhabi  gears up for this year’s Grand Prix, Yas Marina Circuit has dropped a clue as to who the third act to join the after-race concerts will be.

Already on this year's bill are rapper Travis Scott, set to headline the Friday night, while US rockers The Killers will close the weekend on the Sunday evening. And it looks as though American DJ Marshmello will be joining them.

Decoding the clue

As with all of this year's acts, Yas Marina Circuit has posted a video on social media teasing who will be playing, ahead of making the official announcement. While the other two clues have been made up of emojis, the clue for Thursday's headline act takes a slightly different approach.

In the form of a crossword, the clue asks race-goers to solve a five-piece puzzle, with each word point to the name of a song.

Fitting into the puzzle are Happier, Wolves, Friends, Alone, and Silence – all hit songs by the DJ and producer.

Who is Marshmello?

Known for always wearing a giant marshmallow on his head, the DJ – real name Christopher Comstock – is one of the world’s biggest names in electronic music. With a string of multi-platinum hits, the internationally recognised DJ has had a number of high-profile collaborations with the likes of Bastille, Selina Gomez, Anne-Marie and Khalid.

This won't be Marshmello's first gig in the region. He headlined Dubai's RedFestDXB 2018 in February last year, a gig that "had the crowd leaping in the air from the moment he arrived on stage".

Yas Marina Circuit is expected to confirm the act this week. This year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes place between November 29 and December 1. Last year's after race concert headliners included Post MaloneThe WeekndSam Smith and Guns N' Roses.
