Clubland: Destination Dawn, Groove on the Grass and Gregory Tresher

An all-night rave and a stylish boutique dance festival are on offer this weekend

Destination Dawn

Everybody wants a slice of the EDM pie. With Abu Dhabi and Dubai hosting their own mega dance festivals, Creamfields and Sensation respectively, Ras Al Khaimah's Al Marjan Island has stepped up with its own dance-music gathering, Destination Dawn. The festival lives up to its name, with 12 hours of music and the last artist ending their set at 5am. UAE favourites Hollaphonic will perform alongside Morocco's R3hab, Holland's Bassjackers and Russia's Swanky Tunes.

Friday, October 6 at Al Marjan Island. Doors open at 5pm. Tickets cost from Dh200 from dubai.platinumlist.net. A free bus shuttle is offered from Dubai (at Noor Bank Metro Station) between 5pm and 7pm, returning between 2am and 5am on Saturday

Groove on the Grass

The boutique dance festival returns at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. The focus here is as much on dancing your night way as tastefully enjoying the sounds of evocative DJs and a cutting-edge light system in a friendly environment. Headliners are Chilean-American artist Nicolas Jaar and Italy's DJ Tennis.

Gregor Tresher

Gregor Tresher is the one to call for a stylish party from Berlin to Tokyo and Los Angeles. The German DJ, who spins styles including techno and hip-hop, will bring that flare to Dubai's Media One hotel with a set at On42.
