Bruno Mars to perform New Year's Eve concert in Abu Dhabi

The 11-time Grammy winner will headline the Resolution by Night festival on Yas Island this December

Fancy ringing in the New Year with a Grammy winner? You are in luck – Bruno Mars is making his way to Abu Dhabi. The 11-time Grammy winner will headline the Resolution by Night festival on Yas Island on Tuesday, December 31.

Flash Entertainment, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral Asset Management announced the news on social media on Monday, September 16.

Since bursting on to the music scene in 2010, the Grenade hit maker has become one of the most revered and recognisable names in music. His albums have sold more than 130 million copies worldwide. In 2018, Billboard named his 24K Magic World Tour the fourth highest-grossing, bringing in more than $237 million (Dh870.5m) over 100 shows.

Fans heading to Resolution by Night will be able to continue the festivities well into the New Year at Du Arena's Resolution by Day festival on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

There will be a host of family friendly activities on offer, including face painting, magic shows with Magic Phil and the Ultimate Monster flying all the way from the UK, a 300-metre-long inflatable castle with over more than 40 obstacles and an 18-metre slide, a tunnel of love and a "bouncy cage of doom".

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Flash Entertainment and Miral Asset Management to bring in the award-winning artist Bruno Mars to the capital for an unforgettable experience to usher in the New Year," said Ali Al Shaiba, acting executive director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT Abu Dhabi.

“Abu Dhabi has grown to be a world-class tourist destination and we are committed to hosting activities that not only appeal to our residents, but ones that attract visitors both regionally and globally.”

Tickets start at Dh350 for the Resolution by Night New Year’s Eve celebration, and go on sale at noon on Monday, September 16 at www.ticketmaster.ae and Virgin Megastores; tickets for Resolution by Day on January 1 cost Dh20 for children aged two to 12 and Dh50 for adults. Resolution by Night ticket holders are entitled to 50 per cent off for the Resolution by Day festival
