Bollywood's most famous star Shah Rukh Khan has been spotted filming in Dubai.

The beloved actor is in the emirate shooting for his next film, Pathan, a dystopian drama set in the Middle East.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the actor, 55, shooting action scenes in Downtown Dubai, on empty streets on top of a black 4x4 car.

In one photo, taken by a fan, the actor is seen standing on top of a lorry:

And in another video shared on social media, he's part of a choreographed fight scene on a moving vehicle:

According to IMDb, Pathan is set "somewhere in the dystopian Middle East". "Grand houses that once housed the wealthy are now homes of the city's most dangerous criminals", the blurb reads. The film centres around an undercover police officer on a mission to take down the drug lord who killed his father.

The film also stars Dimple Kapadia, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham.

Khan and his co-stars are yet to share any on-set images on their Instagram or Twitter accounts, and fans have been urging bystanders to not share any Pathan spoilers on social media.

Khan is certainly no stranger to the UAE. In 2020, he was regularly spotted supporting his cricket team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, during the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.

He also celebrated his 55th birthday in the Emirates.

On November 2, Dubai's Burj Khalifa marked the occasion with a special light show. The tallest building in the world lit up with the words, "Happy Birthday, Shah Rukh Khan," before the projection played a montage of some of his most famous roles and labelled him the "King of Bollywood".

A video of the show was shared to Instagram alongside the caption: "#BurjKhalifa adds sparkle to the birthday celebration of the Baadshah of Bollywood! Happy birthday @iamsrk! #ShahRukhKhan".

The actor shared a photo of himself standing on a balcony, as his image was projected on to the Burj Khalifa in the background.

"It's nice to see myself on the biggest and tallest screen in the world. My friend #MohamedAlabbar has me on the biggest screen even before my next film," Khan wrote on Instagram. "Thanks and love u all @burjkhalifa & @emaardubai. Being my own guest in Dubai ... my kids are mighty impressed and I am loving it!"

Khan has three children, Aryan, 22, Suhana, 20, and AbRam, 7.
