Private sector holidays for Martyrs’ Day and National Day announced

ABU DHABI // Private sector employees have been given a two-day holiday to mark Martyrs’ Day and National Day.

The Minister of Labour, Saqr Ghobash, said all employees working in the private sector will get a holiday on Wednesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 3.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources had previously said that although Martyrs’ Day falls on Monday, November 30, if a public holiday falls between two weekdays it can be moved to the beginning or end of that week.

In this case it has also been merged with UAE National Day celebrations on December 2 and 3.

All public sector employees, ministry and federal government entities and organisations will be closed from Tuesday, December 1 until Saturday, December 5.
