In reference to your story Angelina Jolie pleads for more aid after visit to refugee camp in Iraq (June 18), Mina Aldroubi's article on the appeal of the Hollywood actress, who is also a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, was a good read. UN special envoy Angelina Jolie is an inspiration to us all. Her appeal to the international community for support for refugees living in dire conditions, particularly widows in Iraq, is laudable.
Celebrities like Jolie have a duty to come forward and use their fame to fight for human rights. Ultimately we all have a duty of care towards refugees. It is our global responsibility to take care of them.

With regard to your story Killing of Pakistan Taliban leader could prompt power struggle (June 17), Mullah Fazlullah was the worst enemy of Pakistan. He went from Swat to Afghanistan when the Pakistani army was about to capture him.
He has been killed just as ISIS is making in-roads in Afghanistan. A new terrorist leadership will soon replace the old one.

New hybrid taxis need to fuel up on service with a smile
While they might be environmentally friendly, I hope the taxi drivers will also be consumer-friendly.
We need common sense drivers who watch their road etiquette on our highways and byways. The way they drive is more important than the way the car looks.
