JK Rowling to release four new Harry Potter eBooks next month

The books will delve deeper into the "rich history of magic"

JK Rowling will be releasing four new Harry Potter eBooks set to offer fans an insight into her imagined wizarding world.

The ‘non-fiction’ stories will be published to Rowling’s Pottermore website, and will “delve deeper into the rich history of magic”.

The short stories have been inspired by a podcast released by Rowling to accompany an exhibition about Harry Potter at the British Library in 2017. Each of the stories will take readers through the wizarding lessons taught at Hogwarts.

"Prepare to delve deeper into the rich history of magic (be it our own Muggle history, or the magical world created by JK Rowling) with this new series of eBook shorts," a statement on the Pottermore site reads.

"In addition to exploring the origins of magic through history and folklore, the eBook shorts will also feature notes, manuscript pages and charming sketches as previously seen in Harry Potter: A History of Magic."

The series will be released over the coming months, and fans can expect to see Harry Potter: A Journey Through Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Potions and Herbology, Harry Potter: A Journey Through Divination and Astronomy, and Harry Potter: A Journey Through Care of Magical Creatures.

The first two books will be released on 27 June, with the third and fourth books set for release soon after.

All four books have been illustrated by London-based artist Rohan Daniel Eason and will initially be available in English, French, Italian, and German.
