Police in Ras Al Khaimah have foiled two separate attempts to smuggle 30,000 Tramadol pills into the UAE.

Police in Ras Al Khaimah have foiled two separate attempts to smuggle 30,000 Tramadol pills into the UAE.

The anti-drugs department arrested two Gulf nationals attempting to take 1,500 tablets over the Al Darah border into Oman.

In the second sting, less than 24 hours later, another Gulf national was caught trying to bring in 28,500 tablets. It was not clear where the man was coming from or when the arrests were made. Three other Arab men were also arrested.

Tramadol is a controlled drug and can only be taken with a prescription.
