Police arrest man for selling drugs on Facebook

ABU DHABI // A drug dealer who called himself The Ghost has been arrested on suspicion of selling drugs via Facebook.

Police said the Arab man, who was arrested with two alleged accomplices, would contact youngsters online and offer them drugs, reported Aletihad, the sister newspaper of The National.

Brigadier Rashid Bursheed, director of CID at Abu Dhabi Police, said the man thought by selling the drugs online he could avoid police attention.

The police, however, have a team of experts which monitors websites and social media to prevent crimes, he said.

Brig Bursheed urged parents to supervise their children’s use of the internet and not to let them talk to strangers online.
