Dubai Tourism has closed four establishments for flouting coronavirus rules.

It has also suspended the permits of 14 establishments and issued final warnings to 19, it was announced on Sunday.

Inspectors discovered the breaches during visits to hotels and tourist attractions in the emirate.

It comes as authorities step up action against anyone breaking regulations designed to limit the spread of Covid-19 and safeguard public health. Cases of Covid-19 reached their highest daily figure on Saturday but fell back on Sunday.

A restaurant on Bluewaters Island was closed by Dubai Economy for failing to enforce social distancing to protect diners from Covid-19.

Four other outlets were also warned for failing to install floor marking to ensure physical distancing.

Dubai Police on Saturday arrested a man for bragging about breaking quarantine, while in Abu Dhabi, officers on Thursday busted a wedding being held at a home in the capital despite a ban against gatherings due to Covid-19.

Dubai Tourism, meanwhile, urged everyone to follow their rules.
