Al Ain cracks down on 'uncivilised' behaviour

Municipality in campaign to counter spitting and throwing of cigarette butts on the street.

Al Ain Municipality issued 940 citations to individuals guilty of "uncivilised public behaviour" as part of a campaign to counter acts such as spitting and throwing cigarette butts on the street.

The municipality said spitting, for which 570 people were cited, is not hygienic.
