UAE weather: temperatures creep towards 50°C

Hot and humid weather will continue across the country this week with temperatures on Sunday inching ever closer to 50°C inland.

The National Centre of Meteorology expects some clouds - particularly in the eastern areas of the country - and fresh winds that will keep conditions tolerable.

Temperatures will range between 27°C and 41°C along the coast, 25°C and 47°C inland and 20°C to 36°C in the mountains.

Humidity will increase overnight on Sunday causing potential mist early on Monday morning.

The lowest recorded temperature recorded on Sunday was 21.6°C in the Damtha area at 5.15am.

The sea will be “slight to moderate” in both the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
