Problem in Abu Dhabi? Report it on new app
ABU DHABI // Capital residents will soon be able to report incidents around the emirate directly to the Government thanks to a new free mobile app.
CityGuard, approved by the Executive Council yesterday, was put online for a trial period. It is now available to all Abu Dhabi residents - iPhone, Blackberry and Android users - to report any incidents around the emirate by taking a photo, video or audio of the event.
Incidents could involve public safety, consumer protection and environmental issues.
The app allows users to use an interactive map to locate the geographical position of the incident.
Government entities that are part of the app include the three municipalities of Abu Dhabi emirate, Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Transport, the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority and the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi among others.
The Executive Council believes the app, with the slogan “Your City, Your Community, Your App”, will increase confidence among the public, investors and the business sector in particular, in the reliability and flexibility of government services.
Users will also be able to follow up on their reports on the app itself or online, via the Abu Dhabi Government’s gateway or by calling the contact centre on 800 555.
