Etisalat have launched a new internet calling plan just days after UAE Skype users complained of disruptions to the service. The new unlimited calling plans enable subscribers to use government-approved internet calling apps at a fixed rate of Dh52.50 a month from mobile devices.

People coming to the UAE to work will need to obtain a "good conduct and behaviour certificate" covering the previous five years from their home country, as of February 4. Further information on this is expected later today.

The UAE experienced heavy rain last night and scattered rainfall is expected to continue until tomorrow evening. More information is coming soon from The National Centre for Meteorology on its recent cloud-seeding operations.
