Girl, 8, locked herself in toilet after 'worker molests her'

Filipina girl locked herself in the toilet of her parents' apartment after she claims a worker there to fix a water leak touched her when no one was looking

An 8-year-old-girl locked herself in the toilet of her parents’ home after she was molested by a maintenance worker, heard Dubai Criminal Court on Monday.

Her father, a  Filipino engineer, 36, had to call the maintenance section at his building in Al Riffa on September 4 as his apartment had a water leak problem.
"They sent their worker about 6pm and he started in the bathroom first then moved to the kitchen," said the father. 
It became apparent that the girl was nowhere to be seen in the apartment but was then was found hiding in the bathroom. When she was asked by her parents why she was hiding, she said she was scared and waiting for the worker to finish and leave.
"I went to the kitchen but the maid was not around. He [the maintenance worker] then stood next to me and touched me," the girl told prosecutors. 
Her parents called police and reported the incident and the 51-year-old Indian was arrested two days later.

He allegedly admitted touching the girl to arresting officers but he was not present in court to face a charge of sexual assault.
The next hearing will be on October 18.
