Godolphin, the thoroughbred horse racing stable, has won the UK Champion Flat Owner award for the 2015 season.
The stable, owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, accumulated the most amount of prize money in the racing year, and achieved a level of consistency across a range of classes and categories and a variety of tracks unmatched by their rivals.
Godolphin won 160 races in Britain in 2015 for prize money totalling £3,909,023 (Dh22.2m) to win their 10th UK Champion Flat Owner accolade.
“Winning the owners’ championship means a huge amount for Godolphin,” John Ferguson, Bloodstock Adviser Sheikh Mohammed, said.
“A huge amount of time and effort has gone into making this operation a success.
“It is no more than Sheikh Mohammed deserves. He is a man who has put an incredible amount into horse racing, so to have got a team of horses together and be champion owner is massively important.
“We have runners all around the world, not only in the UK, but in Dubai, Europe, Australia and the United States. We are a worldwide operation. It is a great team, both human and equine, and I am very proud to be a part of it,”
